GEAR UP was invited to the American Red Cross STEM Goes Red for women event at Eastern Kentucky University. Students spent the day hearing from professional women in STEM careers and participated various hands on activities.
Senior girls are encouraged to apply for The Central & Eastern Kentucky STEM Goes Red Carol Barr fund student scholarship. There will be five (one time) $10,000 scholarships awarded to girls pursuing a STEM related degree. Please see a school counselor or GEAR UP for more information about the scholarship.

Recently, GEAR UP partnered with Mrs. Arnold’s Advanced Foods & Nutrition class and visited Sullivan University. Students participated in a Culinary Demo led by Administrative Dean, Chef John Foster. After the demonstration, students toured the campus and received an admissions presentation where they learned more the Culinary Arts and Jump Start programs.
