Dear Families,
In preparation for the 2022 Garrard Middle School Football season and in cooperation with the high school football program, we felt it necessary to communicate the following with our families:
This year, all 5th graders will be a part of the GMS football program. All 5th and 6th graders are encourage to play.
GMS will have a 5th and 6th grade team competing at the middle school level. This change is supported by the high school football staff in order to begin building the GC football program from the ground up starting in the recreational years and building consistency through middle school and high school.
After school strength and agility training has begun for current 4th-7th grade students. Training is held Mondays and Wednesdays at Murphy Field House 3:30PM-5:15PM.
All athletes will need a sports physical in order to participate in training and other team events.
Players need to wear athletic clothes and tennis shoes to training sessions.
An activity bus will be provided from the elementary schools to the middle school on training days. Parents will need to pick up athletes from the fieldhouse by 5:15PM-5:30PM. The activity buses are as follows: CDR- Bus 410, PLE- Bus 305. LES students can walk to the field house after school. Parents may be required to provide a note to your school regarding these days.
If after school trainings are canceled, each school will be notified so arrangements can be made for transportation. There will be a notice sent through our Facebook page as well.

Starting May 2, 2022 Spring football workouts will begin on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday each week from 3:30PM-5:15PM.
Summer practices will begin July 11, at 6:00PM at the field house Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday of each week.
Dead period will be June 25th - July 9th. There will be no practices during this time.
