The Garrard County Schools community came together for a night of celebration and gratitude at the Under the Lights: Thanks to You Tour, where students, families, and staff explored and experienced the district's brand-new athletic facilities for the first time.
Families, students, and community members were invited to tour the state-of-the-art locker rooms, weight room, and press box. The real thrill, however, came on the fields, where attendees of all ages participated in a variety of activities. From kicking field goals and running the bases to shooting penalty kicks and serving on the tennis courts, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Even staff members joined in the fun, showing that these facilities are a source of pride for the entire community.
A special highlight of the evening was the showing off of Garrard County High School’s new mascot, who was a hit with students and families alike. Concessions were available, adding hot dogs and hot chocolate to the night.
As the field activities wrapped up, families gathered on the main field for a unique viewing experience. The UK vs. WKU basketball game was broadcast on the impressive new video scoreboard, capping off the night with a shared sense of community and excitement.
The event was a “thank you” to the Garrard County community for their support in making these facilities a reality. The Under the Lights tour wasn’t just a celebration of new spaces but also a testament the Garrard County Schools community.
