Homecoming

The Garrard County High School Student Council was thrilled to welcome everyone to the 2024 Garrard County High School Homecoming Court presentation on Friday night, September 27th, 2024.

The event commenced with an introduction of the Homecoming Attendants and Queen Candidates, held near the track at the new facility. 

This year’s Homecoming Court featured three attendants selected by their classmates. First, GCHS celebrated Ms. Emma Grace Whitt, a freshman and daughter of Amy Whitt and the late Lucas Whitt, escorted by her grandfather, Bruce Justice. Next was Ms. Sophie Lawrence, a sophomore and daughter of Michael and Michelle Lawrence, who was escorted by her father. Finally, GCHS honored Ms. Madi Combs, a junior and daughter of Billy and Stephanie Combs, who was escorted by her father.

AttendantsFollowing the attendants, the presentation turned to the 2024 Homecoming Queen Candidates. Ms. Jeslyn Baier, escorted by her father Robert, was the first candidate, followed by Ms. Hannah Fuller, escorted by her father William. Next was Ms. Alexis Moore, escorted by her grandfather, Hogan Moore, and Ms. Riley Murphy, who was escorted by her father, Jordan. Last but not least, Ms. Ava Swope, escorted by her father John, rounded out the candidates.

QueenThe crowning ceremony featured the 2023 Homecoming Queen, Ms. Chloe Middleton, who graciously crowned this year’s queen, Ms. Riley Murphy. Riley was escorted by crown bearers Miss Riley Elizabeth Owens and Mr. Cam Dayton Crutchfield. The ceremony was further enhanced by the presence of the student council president, Ms. Abby Travis.

Cam and RileyRiley Murphy, who plays softball for GCHS and serves as the vice president of the HOSA club, plans to attend Eastern Kentucky University for nursing with aspirations of becoming a CRNA. She is also a dedicated member of Mount Hebron Baptist Church.
