New Coach, New Era
Garrard County High School is excited to announce the appointment of Cassandra McWhorter as the new Head Lady Lions Basketball Coach. With an impressive coaching record and a passion for mentoring young athletes, Coach McWhorter brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the program.
Coach McWhorter's coaching career spans twelve years, during which she has accumulated an impressive 260 wins and maintained a nearly 70% winning percentage. Her achievements include leading teams to nine District Championships, two Region Championships, and making two appearances in the KHSAA Sweet 16, with one remarkable Final Four finish.
Previously serving as an Assistant Basketball Coach at Garrard County High School and the JAG Specialist at Garrard Middle School, Coach McWhorter has already made a positive impact within the school community. Her experience working with young athletes and her dedication to their growth both on and off the court make her an ideal fit for the position.
Coach McWhorter is excited about the opportunity to lead the Lady Lions Basketball program and is committed to helping the team reach its full potential. "I am so grateful to God for the opportunity to be a Head Coach again and have an opportunity to impact young ladies' lives on and off the court," she said. "I am excited to help bring the Lady Lions Pride back to this community and help this amazing group of young ladies create memories that will last a lifetime."
Coach McWhorter is set to become the twelfth Head Coach of the Garrard County Lady Lions Basketball team.

Coach McWhorter resides in Lancaster with her husband and two children, one of whom is part of the Garrard Girls Basketball program. The entire school community is looking forward to the positive impact Coach McWhorter will have on the Lady Lions Basketball team and the continued success of the program.
