GC PARENTS AND FAMILIES: Garrard County Schools Online Registration is now open! The Online Registration process, completed through Parent Portal, will allow you fill out the necessary back-to-school paperwork online. Online Registration does not replace our Back-to-School Nights, but will greatly reduce the amount of paperwork needed to be completed on those nights. There will be detailed directions posted on our page to help you with the process. There will be separate directions for parent/families of existing GC students and new-to-the-district students. PARENTS AND GUARDIANS: Don't forget to activate your parent portal accounts! Parents/Guardians will need an active parent portal account starting July 1st, 2022 to register students for the upcoming school year- this will help replace the numerous hard copies parents/guardians fill out on back to school nights. If you do not have an active parent portal account, please visit your student’s school to set up your account. Your school will provide your user specific activation key. If you have multiple students in the district- setting up your account at one school will include all of your students. You will need to bring a valid ID to set up your account. You will not be able to register your student(s) for the next school year without creating this account. If you have any questions regarding your Parent Portal account, please contact your school.


Garrard County Schools would like to welcome our new School Psychologist, Mrs. Katie Guiney!
Mrs. Guiney has been practicing in the field for over twenty years. Mrs. Guiney says, "I find great joy in helping children learn and succeed at school." Mrs. Guiney and her husband and are originally from western New York state, but they have now lived in Danville, Kentucky for sixteen years. They have a fifteen year old son who will be starting 10th grade in August. Mrs. Guiney says, "We love the Central Kentucky area and we're happy to have it as our home. I’m excited to be joining your community as a school psychologist!"

The President of Western Kentucky University Dr. Tim Caboni, visited Garrard County this morning on his #BigRedRoadtrip. An excellent visit with Judge Executive elect Chris Elleman, Mayor Marshall Norton, GCS Superintendent Kevin Stull, City Grant Administrator Ken Parsons, and Johnathan Shell discussing the great things happening in GC!


Garrard County Schools would like to welcome our new Career and Technical Education Special Education Outreach Coordinator, Ms. Shauna Howard!
Ms. Shauna Howard has 24 years of experience working with students of all ages, and most recently was an exceptional child consultant for the Kentucky Department of Education. Ms. Howard says, “I am overjoyed to be returning to Garrard County as the CTE Special Education Outreach Coordinator. It is my vision that this new program will provide unmatched opportunities for the students of our ATC and give them that competitive edge in the global job market.” Ms. Howard received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky University. Ms. Howard says, “When I am not working in my educational capacity, I am spending time with family and friends. I enjoy Sci-Fi shows and painting. I look forward to working with our students in this new role!”

Meet Tricia Jackson, our APRN:
Tricia Jackson graduated with honors from Indiana Wesleyan University. She has been practicing as a Family Health Nurse Practitioner for four years. Previously, Jackson was an oncology certified nurse at University of Kentucky for twelve years.
Tricia Jackson has been a Garrard County resident since 2002 and says, "I am honored to be able to help my fellow Garrard county residents stay healthy and recover from illness. I look forward to making a positive impact on members of this community."


An exciting new opportunity for Garrard County Area Technology Center thanks to the Career and Technical Education Grant funded by the Kentucky Department of Education.
Garrard County was the first school district to apply, the first district to receive the grant, and will be the first district to pilot!
The grant will allow the ATC to hire a Career and Technical Special Education Outreach Coordinator to support students receiving special education services within career and technical education!

Students who are interested (must be at least 16 years old) can find the application on their Grade Google Classrooms. If interested, be sure to submit the application ASAP!
