Garrard County High School's General Art classes have designed a school art instillation mural that encourages all students and faculty to participate. Each student can make a feather to make up the winged mural called "Flying with Pride". Each feather displays art about what is special to each person and why they are proud to be apart of our school and community. Feathers of staff and students have already been installed, with more to come! A great school pride piece added to the halls of GCHS! #gcsproud #gchsproud
Tech Center Tuesday is here! An exciting day for ATC Electricity Department- with the arrival of the new HVAC trainer this week! Tech Center Tuesday is here, and today we are featuring a Tech Center staff member! Mr. Jerry Martin was recently named Garrard County Schools Teacher of the Month! Mr. Jerry Martin has taught Construction Carpentry at the Garrard ATC since 2019. When asked about his Carpentry Pathways, Mr. Martin says, "Construction skills are something that will always be needed. Even if the students do not work in this field post-high school, the skills that they acquire will always serve them well." Congratulations to Mr. Martin! #techcentertuesday #atcproud #gcsproud
Students in Mr. McDonald's Small Power class at GCHS recently completed the RC Tractor Pull Challenge! Students were able to explore tractor systems and structures and were able to experiment with force, motion, friction, gravity, and other STEM concepts applied to agriculture. Students assembled 5 tractors and experimented on different variables to witness different outcomes. They tried different gear ratios, tire diameters, weight and weight distribution, and hitch height. Students then took what they had learned and applied it to do their own "Championship Tractor Pull". Check out their work! #gchsproud
It is Monday, and we have a little motivation for you! Mrs. Weaver's elementary students visited the GEC last week to participate in Science and Engineering activities! A lot of the activities required learning from trial and error! #mondaymotivation #gcsproud
